
ST. GEORGE – On Nov. 16, a St. George Police Department patrol officer stopped a car for speeding (83mph in a 75mph zone) at I-15 Northbound.
The officer allegedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. He also observed an open bottle of alcohol in plain view on the rear seat.
A K-9 unit responded as back up. The dog indicated on the vehicle and it was searched. Marijuana, a pipe and illegal mushrooms were allegedly found inside the vehicle.
The items were consistent with personal use quantity. The stop resulted in the arrest of the 22-year-old male driver for possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of mushrooms, open container, no proof of insurance and speeding.
