ST. GEORGE – The Dixie State College women’s basketball team moved up five spots to number 20 in the Week 8 version of the USA TODAY ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.
 
The Red Storm (11-1, 1-0 PacWest) opened conference play this past weekend with an 85-72 victory over then #16 Grand Canyon University at home. Fellow PacWest member GCU dropped one spot to #17 with their loss to the Red Storm.
 
Dixie State has only one blemish on the season to now #11 University of Alaska Anchorage. They now have two wins over ranked opponents, Grand Canyon and then #5 Seattle Pacific University.
 
The Red Storm are off all week, but will hit the road for a three game swing to the San Francisco Bay Area on Sunday. They will play Academy of Art on Monday, Dominican on Thursday and Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday.
