‘The Changing Face of Diversity’

ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College’s weekly noontime “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” forum will feature a discussion on “The Changing Face of Diversity: Racial Construct and its Effect on Perspective,” presented by DSC psychology adjunct faculty member Daneka Souberbielle on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 12 noon, in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center on the DSC campus. Admission is free for all community members, DSC students, and faculty and staff.

A Michigan native, Souberbielle earned Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and completed graduate work in Sociology at Penn State University. She has worked at Dixie State for the last five years in various capacities and is credited with the development of the Diversity Center. Souberbielle is active in the Latino community in St. George and teaches English as a Second Language for Washington County’s Southwest Adult High School.

The Dixie Forum will continue each Tuesday through the rest of the spring semester. Upcoming guest speakers include acclaimed author Sandra Peterson, who will share her presentation entitled “Dealing with Difficult People” on March 1st.
