Telegraph, Green Springs to Undergo Resurfacing Next Week

road construction

WASHINGTON – The Utah Department of Transportation will resurface and apply new roadway markings to Washington City’s Green Springs Drive and Telegraph Street Intersection adjacent to Exit 10 beginning next week.

The intersection improvements are designed to preserve the roadway and improve safety by providing a new transition to the widening of Telegraph Street to the east.

Construction workers are planning an inside-out approach to the work. Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, crews will apply a new surface to the two inside-turning lanes and a travel lane on Green Springs Drive and then repeat the process on the inside lanes of Telegraph Street. After the new surface coating cures, a survey crew will then place tabs where new lines
are to be painted.

Wednesday evening, workers will switch from the inside lanes to the outside lanes and repeat the process on both streets.

Drivers should use caution due to the removal of lane striping and expect flagging operations at the Green Springs Drive Intersection as well as the shopping center intersection to the east.

The work will be done in the evening to reduce impacts to local businesses and to avoid peak commute times.

Following a few days of inspection and observation, workers will then return in the evening to paint permanent roadway markings.
