STANSBURY PARK – The Desert Hills Thunder (7-3) head north to take on the Stansbury Stallions (9-1) tonight at 5 p.m.

The Stallions only loss this year was a loss to Delta in week three – a team it could play in the semifinals if both teams win tonight.

Sophomore quarterback Chase Christiansen leads the Stallions. Christiansen has run for 1,117 yards and 18 touchdowns this season.

The Stallions are confident they will win because the Thunder had trouble defending Cedar’s option offense when they lost to Cedar a few weeks ago 48-20.

“Cedar really had their way with the option, and we feel we’re as good as anybody running that,” Stallions coach Clint Christiansen said.

“Cedar and Stansbury are two different teams,” Thunder coach Jake Nelson said. “Cedar’s quarterback John Ursua is faster than any high school football player in the state while Stansbury’s quarterback is a power runner.”

The Thunder should have all their starters back on the field as linebacker Peter Brown, wide receiver Ty Rutledge, linemen Ty Shelly, and star running back Mike Needham all returned from injury last week.
