WASHINGTON CITY – Republican and Democrat delegates are invited Join U.S. House of Representatives 2nd District Candidate Jay Seegmiller, for a bipartisan pancake breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 4, at Veterans Park, 75 E Telegraph in Washington City, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The purpose of the event is for attendees share opinions on how to improve the county and possibly establish a common ground on how to do so, regardless of party affiliation.
According to a statement from the Seegmiller campaign: “Today’s politics have become dominated by shrill voices that refuse to listen to one another. Jay is dedicated to restoring respect and civility to our politics so that we can all get back to work. …Seegmiller is dedicated to showing Utah voters that there are alternative choices and that he is willing to listen to all ideas and work together”
With some Republican delegates uncertain about Republican congressional candidate Chris Stewart, the Seegmiller campaign has been reaching out to Republicans in an effort to set Seegmiller up as a viable alternative.
The campaign has been reaching out to Republicans and Democrats alike, inviting them to share their views about how to get the country back on track. The breakfast at Veterans Park will provide another venue where this can take place.
“In the history of our nation, ideological purity and stubbornness have never proven effective,” Seegmiller said. “Our Founding Fathers built this country on compromise. I am fully committed to that history. The way forward will draw from various political philosophies, not just one… I will vote with whatever party is best for Utah.”
For more information, visit Seegmiller’s website, or call the Utah Democratic Party Southern Utah Field Office at 435-319-0116. Veterans Park is located at 75 E. Telegraph, Washington City.

- Chris White – County commissioner
- Cimarron Chacon – Utah House District 75
- Lee Ann Riddoch – Utah House District 74
- Brent Holloway – Utah House District 62

There are not enough free calories for me to justify attending this event. Throw in some sausage and I will reconsider.
