ST. GEORGE — Dixie, Desert Hills and Cedar all leap-frogged Snow Canyon in the standings with wins Tuesday night.
Cedar did the heavy lifting by beating the formerly first-place Warriors 2-1. Brenden Angus and Michael Briano both scored in the second half to help the Redmen overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit. Jose Garcia had the lone goal for the Warriors, who have now lost two straight and drop to fourth place with the loss.
Snow Canyon, 2-2-1, stays with seven team points in the region standings while Cedar goes to 3-1-0 and has nine team points.
Dixie picked up its third straight win with a 3-0 trouncing of Canyon View. Alex Green, Tyler Paxman and Mitch Wilkinson all scored for the Flyers, while Tristan Cowles got his third straight shutout.
The Flyers now have nine team points with a 3-1-0 region record, while Canyon View fell to 2-7-0 overall and 0-5-0 in region and has yet to record a region team point.
Desert Hills is also tied for first as the Thunder, 6-1-1 overall and 3-1-0 in region, beat Hurricane 1-0. Brandon Parry had the lone goal in the game and Vincent Enfield recorded the shutout.
Hurricane, 4-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in region, has four team points.
