Robert L. Isaacson

Robert Lars Isaacson passed away December 25, 2013.  He was born August 19, 1928 in Honeyville, Utah to John Lewis and Marie Charity Lyday Isaacson.  He married Margene Jeppsen March 5, 1954 in the Logan, Utah Temple.  He was a member of the LDS Church and was a High Priest in the Snow Canyon First Ward. He served in many different capacities within the church.  Some of his favorite callings were serving on the High Council in Las Vegas and serving in the Ogden Temple where he served with his wife for 8 years.  Robert was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

Robert was raised in Honeyville, Utah.  He received a Bachelors degree in education from Utah State Agricultural College.  He served two LDS missions.  The fist when he was 19 years old in the Western States Mission and the second with his wife in the Canada Vancouver Mission.  Robert has lived in Mantua, Garland, East Garland, and Tremonton, Utah.  Robert then moved to Las Vegas with his family where he retired from the Clark County School District.  Robert and his wife then moved back to Perry after their mission to Canada Vancouver, and then to St. George, Utah.  Robert enjoyed farming, raising animals, gardening, and irrigation.  Robert also enjoyed having his family come visit in Perry where he would take his children and grandchildren for rides on his horse and four-wheeler.

He is survived by his wife, Margene of St. George, sons Robert Blake (Susan) Isaacson of Tucson, Arizona and Ron L. Isaacson of St. George, daughters Beverly (Mark) Huffman of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ellen Berresse of Acworth, Georgia, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother Merle Isaacson of College Ward, Utah, sisters Connie Leishman of Smithfield and Donna Nielsen of South Jordan, Utah.  He is preceded in death by his parents, six of his nine siblings, one daughter and two grandsons.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Mantua chapel, located at 231 Willard Peak Road Mantua, Utah 84324.
  • A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service.
  • A separate viewing will be held in St. George, Utah at the Spilsbury Mortuary at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.
  • Interment will take place in the Mantua Cemetery.
