CENTRAL — On Friday evening, a man fell asleep while driving on state Route 18 near Central which resulted in a rollover.
At approximately 5:41 p.m., on Friday, a man was driving on SR-18 near Central when he fell asleep and his car drifted off the highway and flipped one time then landed on its tires, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Mary Kay Lucas said.
The investigating officer, UHP Trooper Roger Larson, arrived on scene to find the driver still seat-belted in his car with only a minor laceration to the forehead, Lucas said.
“No transport was needed most likely because he was wearing his seatbelt,” Lucas said.
Sometimes minor collisions occur and because someone wasn’t wearing a seatbelt he or she is propelled through the glass and have to go to the hospital, Kay said.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by responders on scene and may not contain the full scope of findings.
