ST. GEORGE – The names of individuals involved in Wednesday’s fatal vehicle accident on Red Hills Parkway, including the name of the man that was killed in the accident, have been released by the St. George Police Department.
Bruno Loreda, 52, was killed when the full-size pickup truck he was driving was hit by a cement pump truck driven by Darren Black, 53, in the area of 1275 E. Red Hills Parkway at about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. Traveling with Loreda was 37-year-old Antonio Bernabe.
Bernabe was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center via ambulance with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. Black self-transported to the hospital.
According to a statement from the St. George Police Department, a preliminary investigation into the crash indicates that the cement truck was traveling westbound on Red Hills Parkway around 1300 East while Loreda’s pickup was traveling eastbound and approaching a bend in the road in the same area. The cement truck was unable to stay in its lane of travel at the bend and crossed into oncoming traffic, which resulted in a collision with the pickup. The impact caused the cement truck to roll onto its side.
Loreda was pronounced dead at the scene.
St. George Police Sgt. Sam Despain said Friday that the investigation into the circumstances and conditions surrounding the incident is still ongoing.

Mud may have been a factor, but the truth is that many vehicles exceed the posted speed limit going around that curve, whether deliberately or not.
I think mud will be the likely cause. It was 4-6″ thick and had water running under it. This was a bad storm and compensation was a no brainer but maybe things went squirrely for reasons we will never hear. Think of how many times the driver has taken that curve, which is at the base of the hill where a lot of the cement trucks are housed. The city needs to be included in this investigation and work to remedy the circumstances which could have killed so many more that night.
Does anyone know if Bruno loreda was a legal citizen??
He was a citizen you … moron, I am pretty sure he was a more productive citizen then you will ever be. I hope when something heppens to you or somebody close to you, people don’t ask stupid questions like yours.

What difference does that make? The poor man is dead. I want to send his family my best wishes and condolences no matter where they live. what a terrible accident. I also feel very sorry for the cement truck driver because the whole thing is just a terrible accident.
The speed limit on that curve is 45 and that’s pushing it with any vehicle. Especially a cement truck.
He blasted around the corner at a speed we can only guess and killed someone head on, but it’s all ok because their may have been a little mud in the road, or maybe it was a momentary lapse in judgement, and we know that no one can ever be blamed for that…
If only he had baked a child in a car instead, he could be a rich man from all the donations.
Getting Flooded what difference does it make if the victim was a US citizen, here on a green card, or an illegal immigrant? The poor guy got killed in a terrible accident and left his family without a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, a son. How about focus on that, and imagine how you would feel if it had been one of your family or friends. A man lost his life.
Yes, Bruno was a legal citizen. RIP Bruno.
