ST. GEORGE – A hit-and-run incident Saturday night on Ledges Parkway in St. George has police on the lookout for a silver vehicle with possible front-end damage.

The St. George Communications Center received a call about 9:18 p.m. from residents living in The Ledges area, claiming a vehicle had drifted into the center median on Ledges Parkway and struck a light pole, dislodging it from the ground. The vehicle then backed away from the pole and left the scene.

“There is a wedding up the road, so we’re wondering if it was someone who may have been drinking and driving,” St. George Police Officer Scott Cleveland said. “There is likely some heavy front-end damage to the vehicle.”

Police were unsure of the exact make and model of the vehicle involved in the crash.

“It was likely a truck, but we’re really unsure at this time,” Cleveland said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should call the St. George Police dispatch line at 435-627-4300.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

    You gotta be kidding me,
I would think there are much more important priorities to be on the look out for besides some light pole that got hit in the ledges.
What about all the tailgaters driving around this town? Now I would think tailgaters
and people texting while they drive, this article is absolutely rediculous.
Who gives ship about some light pole.

Start up your own newspaper if you don’t like this one

you are absolutely rediculous, why would I start my own paper? I am merely stating the fact that publishing an article in a newspaper about a pole that got hit is rediculous.

it’s dumb to call this a “hit and run” since no people or cars were hit…

Pretty sure it’s called a hit and run, because a car hit something, then left the scene.

If he was a drunk cop and it was a cop car that he crashed, all would be okay… but not a lamp post.noooooo, thats city property. He must pay! BOLO

I should have parked my car by the lamp post. I want a new yellow with black rally stripes chevy camaro. Maybe I should just get a #fundraiser together, let me know where the next accident is going to be and I’m there
