BEAVER COUNTY — Southbound traffic along Interstate 15 near Exit 112, the south exit into Beaver, was halted Tuesday afternoon while crews cleared up a collision between a motor home and a Toyota Camry (see ed. note).
At approximately 4:19 p.m., an elderly woman driving a Camry was merging into southbound traffic on I-15 when she collided with a motor home that was passing the on-ramp, Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Mcilnay said.
The impact of the collision pushed the Camry sideways. The car hit into the bridge near the median and ended up facing northbound within the southbound traffic, Mcilnay said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, and both parties refused medical attention. The Camry sustained front-end damage, while dark marks were the only visible damage to the motor home.
Southbound lanes were shut down for 30 minutes while the incident was cleared up, Mcilnay said. The woman in the Camry was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
Beaver County Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Beaver County Sheriff’s Office and the Utah Highway Patrol attended to the accident scene.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
Ed. note: The Camry was previously identified as a Corolla.
