ST. GEORGE – Parents and grandparents lined up with young children in tow at Town Square Park in St. George Saturday to be among the first to ride the City of St. George carousel, which officially opened for the season at 11 a.m.
The first 50 in line received free rides on the carousel, according to information from the City of St. George Recreation Department.
Now that the carousel is officially open for the 2015 season, kids and kids at heart can ride the colorful horses every Monday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to the City of St. George website, admission to ride the carousel is free for children under 42 inches tall; $1 for two rides for kids 42 inches and taller, up to age 14; and $1 for one ride for riders who are 14 and older. Group rates are also available.
