National Weather Service issues ‘Hard Freeze Warning’

SOUTHEAST UTAH – The National Weather Service has issued a “Hard Freeze Warning” in effect from late Wednesday night to 9 a.m. Thursday in southeast Utah.

The northeast section of Garfield County and the San Rafael Swell.

Temperatures

Low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20s.

Impacts

A hard freeze warning means subfreezing temperatures are possible.

These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation if they are left unprotected.

Temperatures in the mid to upper 20s and 30s have occurred in Garfield County as well as winds of almost 20 mph, Boulder resident Vard Coombs said.

Paragonah resident Kelsie Trunnell reported snow on the ground in her front yard Wednesday morning.
