ST. GEORGE — A Utah Amber Alert issued statewide Monday afternoon for three children was cancelled about 90 minutes after it was issued.

Fox 13 News is reporting the children were found at a Salt Lake City area 7-11 convenience store and are safe.

The alert was issued for two parents who police say absconded with their three children after the Department of Family and Child Services attempted to serve a court order removing the children from the home and put them into state custody.

Police say that Alpha Rogers and Qwita Solomon took their three children, ages 10, 9 and 5 from their home in a 2009 Dodge Journey with Utah license plate X33 7ZD. Their direction of travel was unknown at the time this story was published.

The children are described as 10-year-old Christina Rogers, a 4-foot-10 black female weighing 80 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, 9-year-old Rickie Rogers, a black male standing 4-foot-1 weighing 70 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, and 5-year-old Queenie Rogers, a 3-foot-1 inch black female weighing 35 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Rickie Rogers, 9, is a diabetic and is in need of his medication.

The parents are Alpha Rogers, who is described as a 30-year-old black male, 5-foot-9, weighing 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and Qwita Solomon, described as a 29-year old black female, 5-foot-4 weighing 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

“For the safety and well-being of the children, an Amber Alert has been issued in attempt to seek the public’s help in locating the children,” the Kaysville Police press release went on to say. “Alpha Rogers has made threats towards law enforcement concerning the children being taken away. Do not approach these individuals if located and contact law enforcement (911) immediately.”
