CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — A long-standing community tradition will take place again this year. Hosted by Frank Habibian and his family, the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner is set for Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is free to the public and will take place at Red Rock Canyon School, located at 747 E. St. George Blvd. in St. George.
All Southern Utahns are welcome to come and enjoy a wonderful meal with the Habibian family and the community. This year, there will be both seated and curbside pickup dinner options. With COVID-19 still lurking, event organizers said they want people to feel their needs are being met while also staying safe.
At last year’s event, volunteers packaged over 2,800 to-go dinners and saw many grateful people who would have gone without a Thanksgiving dinner had it not been provided.
Habibian started the yearly tradition nearly five decades ago in 1973. He was inspired to create this community event after being invited to Thanksgiving dinner as a recent immigrant to the country. However, this event could not happen without the community and its support, especially the volunteers. The Habibian family expressed gratitude for the multitude of people who have given generously for many years.
The Habibian family invites everyone in the St. George community to come and join them for a Thanksgiving meal you will never forget. Everyone is welcome!
