Hayes is scheduled to take the stage on April 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25 for general admission and $50 for floor seating and will be available to purchase through the fair website beginning Dec. 6. Reserve early to make sure you get the best seats.

“It’s guaranteed to sell out, so time is of the essence,” Washington County Fair director Susi Lafaele said. “These tickets will make the perfect stocking stuffers.”

Hayes has headlined multiple tours on his own along with joining the likes of Kelsea Ballerini, Dan + Shay, Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion on the road. His debut album “boom.”, coproduced by Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Shane McAnally, has over 280 million streams to date, and his music has acquired more than half a billion total streams over the course of his career.

His recent EP “Country Stuff” includes the RIAA-certified platinum smash hit “Fancy Like,” which has topped every country streaming and sales chart since its release, including Billboard’s Hot Country Songs. Called “the song of the summer” by “The Today Show,” the track also reached the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs earlier this year. The TikTok dance video Hayes made for the song with his teenage daughter has racked up over 30 million views on the app and was used in a national Applebee’s campaign.

A new version of “Fancy Like” featuring pop superstar Kesha is out now. Hayes also earned double-platinum certification for his song “You Broke Up With Me.” Fans will have a chance to hear these hits and others during his performance at the fair, one of many stops on his national Fancy Like Tour that kicks off in January 2022 and runs through the spring.

The 162nd annual Washington County Fair will be held April 20-23. Lafaele said next year’s event is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever with more carnival rides and several new attractions, including a rodeo. It’s a tradition that many Southern Utahns look forward to each year. Whether you’re showing off an award-winning quilt or just grabbing a snow cone and hanging out with friends, the fair offers something for everyone.

“If you’ve never been before, now is a good time to come,” Lafaele said. “There’s plenty of different things to see and do for all ages.”

The first Washington County Fair was held in September 1860 at the estate of John D. Lee, when Washington City was the county seat and St. George was not yet settled. Families from surrounding towns journeyed by horseback and wagon to show off their livestock, crops and crafts, this rare opportunity to gather perhaps offering a moment’s reprieve from the hardships of pioneer life.

After many name, venue and date changes over the following decades, Washington County Legacy Park was selected as its permanent location in 1997.

“It’s pretty incredible to have a fair that’s such a long-standing tradition,” Lafaele said. “One thing that we’re really trying to continue is just that tradition of community. The fair brings everyone together.”
