Blaze in Enoch consumes house, displaces grandma and grandson

ST. GEORGE — A house fire in Enoch displaced a grandmother and her grandson Wednesday.

The blaze was reported at 6:40 p.m. at 4511 N. Marshal Trail.

The home is a total loss, Cedar City Fire Chief Mike Phillips said.

“The fire started in the garage and burned up through the attic of the roof of the home,” Phillps told Cedar City News.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Phillips said.

Thirty-four firefighters were on the scene with four engines and a ladder.

Responding agencies included the Enoch City and Cedar City fire departments, Iron County Sheriff’s Office and Utah Highway Patrol.

“We are so grateful that the family is safe but they have lost everything. We are hoping to raise some money to help them get back on their feet,” a neighbor of the residents said in a GoFundMe fundraiser.
