Larry Dean Pitt was born Jan. 24, 1937, to Harry A. and Violet J. (Moss) Pitt in Iowa City Iowa. Larry passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, in St. George, Utah, at the age of 84.

Larry was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

Larry attended several one-room schools in Harrison County, Iowa, until the fourth grade, then went to Logan Public school into high school. After school, he worked on several farms.

On Oct. 27, 1953, Larry married Shirley A. Zacharias at St. John Lutheran Church in Persia, Iowa, and from the marriage, three children were born. Dennis D. Pitt (Joanne), Daniel L. Pitt and Kathryn A. Dockins (Warren). Larry and Shirley were married 63 years.

Larry spent most of his life as a meat and beverage salesman. He retired in 1999, from Alliant-Kraft Foods. After retirement, Larry and Shirley traveled in their motorhome, until they bought their home in St. George, Utah.

Larry is preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley, his brother Harry W. Pitt and his parents, Harry and Violet Pitt.

Larry is survived by his three children, four grandchildren: Joshua Bankston (Misty), Michael Pitt (Ashley), Stacey Pitt, Rebecca and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the New Promise Lutheran Church, 244 South Valley View Drive, St. George, Utah.
