ST. GEORGE — The St. George Youth City Council held a community dance on May 14 to raise money for the Washington County Youth Crisis Center. On May 31, the Youth City Council presented 27 Wal-Mart gift cards — totaling $270 — to Tami Fullerton, assistant program director for the crisis center. The cards will be used to help these young people buy necessities such as clothing and shoes.

The community dance was the second annual event of its kind. The Youth City Council community dance was a project started last year by the council and will be an annual event. The event is meant to help engage the youth of St. George in a fun and safe environment where they can enjoy music, dancing and games, such as frisbee or volleyball.
